Dorothee Mields - soprano & Hathor Consort : During the 30-year war the Königsberg remained a rare place of peace because of its geographical position. Many people - under whom also artists and musicians - searched there for refugee. Heinrich Albert, a student of Schütz and strongly influenced by Schein and Tunder, became court organist at the Königsberg in 1630. In the peace of the Königsberg he created a meeting place for composers, poets and musicians in a hut next to a pumpkin field: the ,pumpkin hut'. There artists from all over Europe regularely held ,Studisorien' to discuss and inspire each others work. (+)
